The Story
"The Essay" is an amusing study of how easy it is to waste time and distract yourself when you're supposed to be getting on with something. A student sits down in the morning to write an essay on 'Hamlet'. Several hours later the paper is still blank. Will she finish it by the end of the day? Or will endless cups of coffee/daytime TV/the radio/filing her nails win the day?
