DateTimeSubject30th Jan 2003 19:09:15 MOTH Set construction meeting and VFX meeting at Shepperton. First we looked at all aspects of the set to try to anticipate any potential problems before work is due to commence, next week. Then we looked at possible areas where we might save money in an already tight art department budget.
We also went over the moth camera tests with Matt Twyford (VFX Supervisor). Matt now has all the VFX shots on storyboard and will break them down into the VFX shots needed for the film.

Schedule meeting at BAFTA; there are several problems with making a film that has an eight year old boy as the central figure in the film. We're working hard to come up with a schedule that is practical and efficient.
DateTimeSubject27th Jan 2003 18:27:31 MOTH Today we set up a series of camera tests to look at the possibility of using several dummy moths. Luke Smith (Production Designer) has been making various moths and we've been testing several models to recreate moth shadows and moths in flight. The tests were extremely effective and the next step will be to look at the results with VFX Supervisor, Matt Twyford.
We also cast our "Tommy Double" today. Nine and a half year old Tom Grant will stand in for many shots in the film and is a welcome and vital member of the cast.
DateTimeSubject24th Jan 2003 21:03:41 MOTH Production meeting at BAFTA. The budget is the ultimate challenge for all filmmakers, but even more of an issue when making a short film that requires much in the form of sponsorship of services and facilities.
